Will anybody be able to record this and make it available for us non-Canadians? Is that allowed? I'd love to see it if possible. :)

uuhhhh... It's airing on Country Music Television... unless I'm mistaken ..in the US. If you have cable or satellite, you should be able to watch it. Unfortunately for me I can't link to the website on this computer, so ... Anyone able to help?? If it is in Canada... I hope they will post it for viewing on the website, or re-air it in the States.

Someone on Facebook commented that they checked their guide for CMT (US), and it was actually -not- listed.
Edit: It looks like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on at 10pm in the US on Monday. *twirls finger in the air*
A search of their site only brings up their basic information. There are no matches under "Shows." There is also supposed to be a Great Big Sea special the same night, so I am DOUBLE disappointed.

I wasn't able to see it listed anywhere on DirecTV and the site in the quoted article is Canadian, which is why I was under the impression it was airing in Canada only.

Sorry to hear my dear American friends are getting the shaft on this one. :( For those in the EST, it's on at 10 pm, with the Great Big Sea concert on at 9 pm directly before.
I certainly hope it becomes available for others online somehow!

 My question is since when is BNL country?? Isn't CMT country?? Unless CMT Canada isn't country. Maybe a fellow Canada viewer can cap this :: wink::

The website is for CMT Canada, so I'm sure the programing is different in CA than in the USA. Looks like us BNL fans down here will have to catch it online somewhere. Total bummer.

:rolleyes:I flubbed that one.. wasn't paying attention. I can't view the website on this computer as I said.. and didn't initially realize they meant Canada only. The worst part is I really hope someone will either post it online for viewing ,or that it will (repeatedly) air in the US ( or at least eventually) because I don't even have TV at home ( can't afford it). I'm hoping to get a computer for Christmas though.....

Ugh, still not showing here, at least on DirecTV. However, Barenaked in America is airing at 4:45 am on Wednesday on ch. 531, whatever that is. Recording it to DVR despite having the Japanese DVD; that way I can watch it whenever without having to toddle my happy ass over to the DVD player. :)

Good news! You can watch the special here: http://www.cmt.ca/Programs/ProgramItem.aspx?prog_id=262
Bad news: Part one mutes right at the beginning, so you can't hear it. the other parts play fine. Hopefully they fix this.

Thanks! The first performance part still doesn't have sound, but the rest is great. I hope a high quality copy becomes available.

If you go to the homepage, www.cmt.ca, on the right side, half way down, they have an interview as well.

"He puts the ONTO in Toronto..." -Ed
I really liked the look and feel of the concert portion of the show. Nice selection of new and old material and everyone looked relaxed. It's too bad there wasn't any banter that they showed or put online. I wonder if the setlist they played was the complete one or a "best of". It sounds like the show was done just before the mayor's race.I didn't see any tweets or posts about them taping. I wonder if it was just family and friends.
The interview posted was pretty dull unfortunately. The host seemed like he was either rushed or didn't do research into the band. There were so many moments that I would want to interject and ask a follow up instead of just letting the topic slide. But like most interviews, I always felt the band could make reading the phonebook entertaining. It was annoying almost that the interviewer kind of let the band run the interview instead of being active enough to push for more information or other related stories. That also makes me wonder if their PR person had a list of topics they won't discuss.
8/10 for the performance about a 5/10 for the interview.

I have been trying to figure out where I knew that interviewer from, and I think he might have been a rejected VJ from Much Music. He was horrible!

I've seen him too somewhere but not on Much Music, some other canadian Tv show that will come back to me evenually.

I think this special was really nicely shot, and mixed very well. Not hard to see the effects of a year of touring on the overall tightness of the band - they sounded tight, sharp and big, and the arrangements are sounding even more fleshed out, especially on the newer AIGT tunes - for the most part, they're sounding even better than the recorded counterparts IMHO.
One thing I missed was Grammah, Jim's trademark double bass, not being used at all on the show. On the plus side, it means Jim can move around the stage more to create visual interest (Ed being far more anchored to bis vocal position now...'member the old days and his foot-shuffle-dance-moves all over the stage on Old Apartment?) but I really missed seeing Jim giving the upright a good workout.

I've been to a few shows now where Jim has not used the upright, either using bass guitar for songs that would have otherwise been upright, or using his electro-upright. I'm not sure exactly why he's going bass guitar on more songs.

When I asked Jim about Grammah in Springfield, he told me she blew off her stand in a gust of wind  but that she's "in good hands" for her repairs.

The interviewer was Paul McGuire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_McGuire). Canadians may remember him as PJ Paul on YTV in the early to mid- 90s. He hosted The Zone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Zone) and the Breakfast Zone back then.
My sister and I met PJ Paul at, the first annual, YTV's Psycho Blast, held at Canada's Wonderland near Toronto.

Must have been some gust. I know he misses being able to play it though.
