Well, no one's posted about this one yet, so here ya go!

7 1/2 hours across the desert, including one gas refill and two potty breaks. Talking and singing to yourself helps, especially if you're traveling the 1-10 between Indio and Phoenix, where there's a whole lotta nothing to look at.

This was not your typical venue/show. It was a benefit for the Boys and Girls clubs of Tucson, so first, you got to enjoy all this great food laid out by the upscale restaurants in town. My personal fave was the Zinburger which was like this really tender prime rib put into slider form with gravy and onions on top. Dee-licious! With all the good food and a nice big table of people I knew or to be acquainted with, it was hard not to get carried away with sampling and reckoning that you've got to stand there with a very full belly during a GA show. They had tables of items to bid on in the back. I'm guessing a large majority of the crowd were not BNL fans, but movers and shakers who were there to see and be seen (and quite a wide array of evening wear was also witnessed).

The boys came out right on time and launched into "Who Needs Sleep?". Ed related a funny story about ordering the "El Presidente" plate at a south Tucson restaurant and was disappointed to find that he had a sunburn two hours later whilst walking around town. Apparently, it's not the same sun in the True North, heheh!. For it being their first show of this autumn tour, their playing was surprisingly spot on tonight, even if the setlist stuck to familiar ground (once again, this being the first night). Gordon had one song ($1,000,000) , MYSD had no love, Pirate Ship - one (Old Apt.); while Stunt enjoyed 5 songs (You can pretty much guess). Maroon had a couple"Pinch Me and Falling For The First Time, E2E had 1 (Maybe Katie), BLAM -2 (Easy and Sound Of Your Voice), and AIGT had 4 -4 Seconds, Run Away, Subway, Another Heartbreak). Personal highlight of the evening: Tiny taking over Steve's part in the middle part of Eraser. Go Tiny!

And it's official: I can no longer listen to the album version of Alcohol. Uncle Tyler has possessed it and it is just not the same hearing it without the visual of him stumbling across the stage.

Speaking of stage, one of the more inebriated patrons tried waving those seated on the floor to rise and dance. She was not successful initially, but eventually people rose and pressed to the front of the stage. Yay, Tucson! :)

However you slice it, it was a great evening. Likely my last time of seeing them before the cruise (can it really be less than 100 days away...really?). And typical of my BNL experiences with band and people I've come to know as a result of the band, I feel lifted up and taken away to a better place for awhile. Now parent teacher conferences don't seem as daunting next week.

Thanks to the guys and the good people I've come to know as a result of listening to their music. :)

Good write up Michael. I can never remember what was sang so I'll take your word for it. :)

I was not as lucky as Michael and ended up on the side with the "Green" VIP's and lots of drunk people around me. Joy. But it was still great to see the guys and chat with long time BNL friends/fans and to make new ones.

I did however get to see them perform at North for a breakfast/radio show! I arrived at 5:30am and found Jeanne and Victor to be the first in line. Yay! :)

We were able to go inside just after 6am, got a table right up front and enjoyed a tasty, free breakfast while waiting for the 8:30am show to begin. Again, I'm horrible at remembering what songs were played but I do know that "Raisins" was performed during a commercial and "One Week" was the last song played. However, in the middle of it, the DJ's brought out a cake for Ed's birthday and the audience sang to him. A very intimate and relaxing show and I enjoyed every minute of it! Oh, and it was filmed for a local channel and I think 92.9 will post it on their site.
