I wish I was at Canandaigua! It sounds like a heck of a lot more fun than Radio City. I remember reading (I thought it was here) that the band should come and play somewhere (Albany?) because the fans are so much better than NY fans. I'll deny ever saying this to my friends but honestly, I am beginning to believe that is true. I am so tired of paying top dollar ($80 per plus fees xs 3!) and being disappointed, mostly with my fellow concert goers. The "Sit down!"s vs. The "Stand Up!"s just about ruined my night. Everybody just shut the hell up and live and let live! If you want to stand, go ahead. If you want to sit, go ahead. Better yet, stay the hell home and listen to your stereo!
I was hoping to hear some surprises, not necessarily my request, and didn't. The highlight for me was Tyler's (Alicia Keys') New York chorus. It lasted about 30 seconds. I've haven't seen the Ladies dozens of times like some others here but it has been about 10 shows and I know this was not their best. It happens. <shrug> Maybe they could sense the bs from the audience too. The show ended mid-song exactly at 11pm (NY Union Edict) much to the dismay of the crowd. Hellooo, did you not know you would have to be done by 11? And you still had 2 opening acts? Ben Kweller killed! Angel Taylor, not so much and was awful on Every Subway Car.
All in all, this added up to an overall disappointment. I hope I'm better able to explain today. The vicodin seems to be working on the back :p

NYC shows seem to have that curse... the Peep Show in NYC was apparently pretty bad, too... people didn't "get" it beforehand. I've come to the decision that I will never attend a NYC show. Western NY is the place to be. :D

Western NY, and Central NY - I would love for them to come to Albany. They were at Turning Stone Casino in Verona in 2003 or 2004, sadly it was before I was the fan I am today, and I missed out on that one - bummer!!

Of course it was!!! I'm already kicking myself for being so slow to realize the genius that is BNL. :(
