Like which one to you had the best visuals and fit the song the best (or even showed the song in a real cool way)? I actually don't like music videos that refer to the song too much
(Another Postcard and their kids songs are exceptions), I dunno why but they're not as good as ones that are very subtle. I like ummmm....

-Lovers in a dangerous time
-Easy
-Enid
-pollywog in a bog (especially this one cuz they show bnl as furries)

hmmmm...well crap that's it, and I just noticed that most of these videos I picked
are cutesy in any way possible. Okay your turn

P.S Kevin's fursona in Pollywog doesn't make sense, I didn't even know it was him until
they showed him with the piano.

Inb4 excuse to talk about furries

BNL have never really had good music videos IMO. They always suffered from lack of money, bad directors or both.

"The Old Apartment" and "Pinch Me" are the only videos I think are truly good.

I like the "Too Little Too Late" video best, I think.

Wasn't a fan of the BLAM-era videos where the band didn't appear in them.

I like the sheer energy and craziness in "Enid" and the alternate fast food universe of "Pinch Me" the best.

Testing 1-2-3 was one of my favorites-- it was really well done in my opinion

Son of a...I can't believe I forgot this one. I agree, it was great, and I still love to watch it.

Great question!

I'd have to go with the Rock Spectacle version of Brian Wilson, Get In Line, and Too Little Too Late.

Does the Ballad of Gordon count? :D

I disagree as strongly as I possibly can there.

Anyways, my favorite will ALWAYS be Pinch Me.
My others are Too Little Too Late, Falling For The First Time, Thanks That Was Fun, and You Run Away.

Pinch Me.

Can't think of any other BNL videos that do the songs any justice.

Hands down, the video for the Rock Spectacle single version of "Brian Wilson." I'm still holding a grudge that they couldn't get it onto Barelaked Nadies.

"Too Little Too Late" is a close second, though. The full version, of course.

Is there anywhere I can watch this? I've heard of it many places, but never seen it.

Also did anyone see Barenaked in America where the entire band was pissed off at how It's all been done is the fucking worst video ever? It's funny cuz Ed was nitpicking at
the whole thing like "The POVs are really boring...a cat doesn't look down on the floor when it walks!" then this guy was all "well how do you know how a cat walks? Then Ed goes "I HAVE 3 CATS"

But that is the only thing I agreed with tvfan with, just the fact that they get bad directors. But I've enjoyed the videos for a lot of their songs anyway.

I'm not sure exactly why, but the 1993 Brian Wilson is in its chronological place.

I much prefer this more recent video.

Why you gotta be hatin' on McG, dawg?! Ed slid across the hood of the MF General LEE! That's some tight shit, that is! You think it doesn't take some bank to get McG and the General LEE? Damn right it does!

What about Mr. Priestly? I'm pretty sure he could score a nice paycheck directing a BNL video at the height of his fame. Unless, of course, you think it was quid pro quo for the BNL appearances on "...90210".

And don't get me started - don't EVEN get me started - on David Hogan, the hero of the music video world. You don't get assistant director gigs on Alien3 and Batman Forever by sucking at what you do.

Scott Kalvert? The guy went on to direct "Basketball Diaries" and "Deuces Wild"! He's an AWESOME director who completely grasps the concept of fast-paced action and graphic violence filmed in beautiful fluidity. MVs are a walk in the park for him!

Sure, Doug Aitken was a hack! Let's face it, he's no Spike Jonze. Why Fatboy Slim thought Aitken could do half the job on The Rockafeller Skank V2 that Jonze did on The Rockafeller Skank V1 is beyond me, but CLEARLY he wasn't brought back to direct Weapon of Choice, as was Jonze, so that right there speaks volumes!

BNL videos may not always be great, but not because they '...always suffered from lack of money, bad directors or both.' Loss of/unclear vision? Miscommunication? Poor decisions within the management executive ranks? Sure, happens on a regular basis. May have happened with BNL too.

Well, I don't care how corny it might be, I will always love the video for Enid. Lovers In A Dangerous Time is another one that I love. I guess because Lovers is staged in Scarborough, in parts I've driven through (friends of mine taught at their high school), and Enid because it's so fun!

But lately, I really love the camera shots in You Run Away. Those three came to mind first.
