Family Watches 4 Bobcats Play In Back Yard

How fascinating to watch, but I can imagine unnerving indeed if you had small children. Just goes to show that humans can not control nature. I was glad that there was no news about hunting them down or anything.

I am sorry I just do not get it. I understand that they don't believe that they should be hunting whales, I get that. But to actively participate in sinking a ship?

I'm all about saving whales, but holy hell are those people on Whale Wars fucking obnoxious. I'm on their side, but they make me want to punch them.

Lacey that was uncalled for............I had a mouthful of coffee for heavens sake, and now I will be cleaning droplets of coffee off my desk for hours!!! ;)
I agree whole heartedly with the sentiment. But I feel that way about lots of fanatics. Their message gets completely lost by the stupidity of their actions.

There's nothing worse than someone you can't stand who you have to agree with. I don't WANT to agree with blowhards like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh...I hate that I concur with most of their opinions, because they're both such giant windbags.
Same thing here- it's like "thanks for ruining it for those of us who care but are not crazy, assholes".

I agree that some people go too far in their cause ... but I'm also of the opinion that sometimes you have to be radical to pull things just a little bit in your direction.
Kinda like the big guy at the end of the rope.

LG flat-screen TV gets skinny

Just when I was about to give up watching TV because the flat screen was deeper than 18 millimeters!

It was the protesters who got sunk: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/8443309.stm
That speedboat looks like it belongs to Batman.

Phillip I know that is what the protesters are saying. From the videotape I have seen it appears that the whalers were not going to succumb to the threat by the protesters, and the protesters lost the game of chicken. The batman like boat certainly is easier and quicker to maneuver than the whaler

Your original post suggested the protestors were trying to sink the whaler, but since they were only armed with stink bombs and laser pointers that was never going to happen - no matter how cool their boat. I agree, however, that the collision looks like a 50/50 thing - the protestors getting too close and the whaler not being able to stop.
I took part in a campaign to stop whale hunting in the 1980s, but I must admit that I don't like the look of these protestors in their stealth boat and quasi-military uniforms - all a bit too Captain Nemo for my liking.
On the other hand, the Japanese are killing whales to eat under the guise of scientific research which is pretty damn annoying to say the least.

Phillip I am sorry if my post could be misinterpreted that the protesters were out to sink anything. My point was that it was over the top to have a boat sunk in the name of protesting the hunting of whales. Not quite as bad as the abortion protesters that bomb abortion clinics, but you get the point.

I met a former classmate from Uni a couple of years ago, who told me about an after-dinner speech Paul Watson (founding-member of GreenPeace - member number 007- and Sea Shepherd - after GreenPeace became too 'soft' for his taste) held at a rotary club in Munich. After the speech and standing ovations, he received checks with donations in the four- to five-digit range...
While accepting the checks, he mentioned that he inquired on buying a surplus sowiet diesel submarine...

Come on Gary, Wayne Enterprises made all his stuff. The rich have a way of getting everything they want, even if they have pay some third world child to manufacture it.

Flooding, heavy winds, tornadoes possible as new storm arrives in L.A.

For once STORM WATCH is not just a bunch of fools standing out waiting for some moisture to fall from the sky. It is odd to hear about tornado warning here in southern California.

Kinman Chan says he was higher than a giraffe's butt from a double dose of medical marijuana cookies when he started screaming, dropped his pants, and attacked crew members. The 30 year old freaker had to be subdued courtesy of a well-placed choke hold. The US Airways flight was forced to land in Pittsburgh when Kinman, still stoned out of his gourd, was arrested. While the passenger did have a legally issued medical marijuana card, he could be in BIG trouble for disrupting the flight. Interfering with the duties of a flight attendant carries up to 20 years in prison.

I guess I just don't get it. FIle the charges, go pick him up, done and over with. Why does the fact that he doesn't want to appear stop the DA from filing the charge?

What little is known about this certainly raises more questions than answers them. It will be interesting if we ever hear about this again.
