I was only 2 when Old Apartment came out, and whenever i heard it I used to think it said "Broke into the old apartment, this is where I once met Phil." I was a moron haha

Yay! This will be a fun thread!:)
I still like to laugh and do "my" lyrics to "Life, In A Nutshell" where I sing about the "...bird seed inter locks". No, it makes no sense, but then again, I'm also stuck on singing "our bikini love" from the new album, when I KNOW it's "graffiti love".

My all time fave for me:
"Sometimes I stammer, or mix up my gramma"
I still sing it to this day.

My mom just told me today that she thought the song Enid was called Even, and thought it went "Even we never really knew each other anyway"
and my best friend thought the Old Apartment went "Broke into the old apartment, doobie, doobie, doobie, doo." I'm not kidding you. I was laughing sooo hard when she told me that a couple of weeks ago.

Oh I just remembered something more ridiculous!
I remember when Old Apartment first came out, I was around 11 or 12 and I thought that "How is the neighbour downstairs, how is her temper this year" was "How is the name Adelstress, how is her temper this year"

Sort of on the subject...and I know I'm a loser. But it took me about 3 years to realize the joke in Pinch Me with "I can hid out under there. (Under where?) I just made you say underwear!"
My wife still laughs at me when we hear that song.

Well, heck - I thought the words were "Lying in bed just like Brian Wilson, DEAD..." for the longest time. ;)

I used to hear this same line as "how is her tan for this year!" :D Don't know why I ever thought that made sense, but I did! Now I laugh every time I sing that line :D :D

Speaking of Old Apartment;
The last time we were in Toronto, I deliberately drove up and down Danforth Ave, just so my wife would hopefully understand the lyrics "I know we don't live here anymore / We bought an old house on The Danforth" she always sang it as "We bought an old house on the dancefloor"

I always sing:
"Naked angels on the lawn" - Green Christmas
"One Mississippi, Two Mississippi, Three Mississippi, FLOOR!" - Four Seconds
I also like "mix up my grandma..." ;D

I'm deliberately mishearing and missinging "butter bum butter bum butter buuuuu uuuuum" for the chorus of Summertime :D

In Green Christmas I always sing "Red Bulls on the railing" instead of "Red bows on the railing".

"I bring you flowers and the 22 inch shelves." So he wants to re-decorate, is that so wrong?...oops, never mind.

It was only about 6 months ago (while going through the liner notes again) that I realized that in Spider In My Room, it's "Eight legs and a little head" instead of "I like it's little head".
I still think "Mix up my gramma" wins. :D

Glad someone else thought it said birdseed. My sister still mocks me about that one.

To be fair to Michael on this one, Ed is the cause of this one, on Rock Spec he actually pronounces it that way, and it may be intentional, because at times he has also sung "sometimes I stammer, or mix up my grandpa", which means he either was singing 'gramma' live on occasion, which evolved to grandpa, or else did it unintentionally on Rock Spec (or elsewhere), noticed it and started making light of his own mis-speak
