Anyone else planning to see this ? I don't really care for pointless violence, but this film looks interesting. I'm seeing it tomorrow.

To be honest, I'd be seeing The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo if it was playing at a theatre that was closer to me.

We'll definitely be seeing it. We've been waiting for it for awhile. The woman who wrote it, Jane Goldman, co-wrote the screenplay of Neil Gaiman's Stardust, which I loved. Her husband is Jonathan Ross, British celebrity talk show host and entertainer. They were just out in LA doing promos for Kick-Ass and their new graphic novel "Turf".

Looks interesting to me on the previews, but I'm a little concerned it will be a bit of a rip off of Mystery Men, one of my all time favs - "I don't need a compass to tell me which way the wind shines." Looks better than Hot Tub Time Machine though.

I'm planning on going, although it sounds a bit more blood-and-gutsy than I would've originally thought (based off some reviews, anyways). I can get into that stuff; it should be a nice little summer popcorn flick. I also want to see Death At a Funeral.

All that really matters though: Iron Man 2.

Jane Goldman. Oop.

Did you see the original, British, "Death at a Funeral"?

I was surprised to see Peter Dinklage back, but pleasantly so. He has a brilliant deadpan.

I'm SO there! If I wasn't expecting family to arrive momentarily, I'd be at the theater now.

Violence and language don't bother me in the right context, and this is the right context. *thumbs up*

My husband and I hung out with Wes Studi and his wife at a party during the Santa Fe Film Festival a few years back. He is a great guy. He was sorely lacking in Yoda-esque wisdom, though.

I love the original Death at a Funeral way too much to see the new one.

Umm, not to be indiscreet, but wasn't Ed once "involved" with her ?

I love Wes Studi - especially when he plays Joe Leaphorn on PBS :)

Loved the book, but I heard the movie sucked - that it's getting a Hollywood treatment that should be better.

We saw Kick-Ass last night. It was a LOT more violent than I was expecting, but at least it wasn't particularly gory. I actually really liked it, though. The acting was pretty good, and there were a bunch of hilarious scenes. The violence of the kid was a wee disturbing at times, but it fit with the movie as a whole. And the nice part is that it's rated R (or 18A, whatever), so no teenagers goofing off the whole movie! :)

I saw the 10:30AM showing yesterday. Not that many people in the theatre, oddly enough. I sorta liked the movie, but find that "McLovin'" kid annoying.

Interesting footnote, Aaron Johnson (who plays "Kick Ass") also portrays the young John Lennon in the upcoming "Nowhere Boy," directed by Sam Taylor Wood. They are expecting their first child in a few months.
