Okay, so who all is coming to the London show this weekend? We're coming up and I know of a few more but just wondering who is planning on joining the party! We're at the Delta Armoury if anyone wants to meet in the bar before the show, I'm assuming they have a bar!

I'm staying at the Hilton.

Swiss Lady, where is the other thread? I did not want to start a new one but I also don't come on here very often. I will see you in our seats and at the meet and greet!

Mistee, look forward to meeting you!

Swiss Lady, where is the other thread?

Sorry, but I think I was wrong (or at least I can't find it anymore).
Maybe I was thinking of a thread on another board (bn.net).

Maybe, maybe. Haven't bought a ticket yet, still deciding. I would be driving home afterwards, I think. Long ride, but too expensive already let alone stay over.

Barbara, did you receive a CD from Artist Arena specifically to bring with you for the Meet & Greet? What about your lanyard?

According to the Ladies Room post about the presale, you did not get a cd signed or otherwise with your purchase of the Barenaked VIP package. If someone did get a cd for this, please let me know so I can call and get mine.

I received one CD for my Ladies Room membership and 2 CDs for the two VIP packages I purchased for the Calgary show.

The VIP CDs came with a letter saying that we should bring them along for signing. So I think you should make that call!

Since wording on different packages has changed since originally being offered, as some people have noted, I've gotten a bit confused. So I called Artist Arena today and told Nick I was still waiting to receive 2 CDs for the Barenaked VIP package for the show in MTL on 4/30, and 2 CDs for the Barenaked VIP pkg, for the show in Oshawa 5/1. His reaction was not "you don't get a CD for those shows because they're Canadian" his reaction was to look up my name, confirm he had me, tell me I should have received the CDs a couple of weeks ago, confirmed the CDs we received for the show 5/25 in Santa Rosa, CA and confirmed the mailing address was correct for both my husband and I. After putting me on hold a couple of times, he came back and said he's have to check with the shipping department to see when those CDs were mailed and he would get back to me, probably tomorrow.

Since then, hubby THIS via the Artist Arena website:

So I'm confused. Note the There will be three (3) ticket options available for most shows on the US tour. and then the list includes Canadian dates on 4/30 and 5/1.

So, I believe we should be getting CDs since we bought the Barenaked VIP packages. Hubby thinks we're also entitled to "exclusive" T-shirts and believes they won't be the same T-shirt given to the Naked Ladies pkg. buyers (because that list of goodies doesn't say "exclusive" in front of the T-shirt), nor should it be like the t-shirt we'll (eventually;)) receive for being fan club members. But I highly doubt the shirts will be different.

On another note, I think these packages became available after we purchased our Barenaked VIP pkg. and that they were added to get people who purchased just the tickets to upgrade, which is odd because if we would have done that, our price overall price (seat + ticket) would have been less. We may not have gotten front row seats for Oshawa, but since MTL is GA, we could've saved a couple of bucks.

It all seems very interesting in a confusing 'heeeey...are we getting screwed out of something?' sort of way.

Still, I'm terribly excited about all the shows we'll be seeing. I just thought that by posting this, those who should be getting CDs know to call and ask for them. If just one person receives the CD they are entitled to, my blathering here is not in vain. :)

Am I the only one who was really underwhelmed by the show. I can barely remember what they played. I just looked at a setlist on setlist.fm and I can't even tell if it's right (at least some of it is wrong). I remember it being a lot of new stuff and a huge section (maybe 5 or 6 songs in a row) of radio singles. I was reading some of the other setlist people posted here it doesn't seem like the whole tour has been this way.

This is the 6th show i've been to and I just don't know, something felt really off. The first adlib felt really forced ... kind of, "well they expect us to do this so I guess we better get it over with." It was kind of a miserable day in London, cold and even snowing a little. The whole show was pretty dreary. The only really good part was 4 Seconds.

Also I know i'm not the only one who felt the show was way too short. I understand that a human can only sing for so long and without Steve it's hard to have shows that go on for more than an hour and a half. They should have kept Joel Plaskett on longer or maybe even add a second opener.

I will say, Joel Plaskett was great and has found himself at least two more fans.

Well everyone has their different opinions about shows, but I absolutely LOVED it. Granted, I haven't seen them since last June in Muskoka, but I had a great time even though I wasn't on the floor. I loved the setlist, I was super impressed with Ed's singing of "Blame it on Me," and I totally dug the way they did "Sound of Your Voice." I had a fantastic time and was totally impressed. The people around me seemed to had a great time as well.

I really could do without 1M, though, even I know they do it because people expect it. And the crowd lost their minds so I presume that's there to stay, oh well!

we loved the show too. I thought they did great and we didnt feel like it was too short. I would love them to play all night but i thought it was as long as normal. The 4 of us had a blast. I loved the way they did sound of your voice too. I was wondering how it was going to be when i saw the set list before the show and it beat my expectations. It made me come home and start trying to figure out what show we should travel for.

I thought the show was awesome! It was so great and energetic. I loved 98% of the songs they played... it was really well done.

I think if anyone though the show was toned down, maybe it was because their families were there? I found out after the show that many of there family members were there... so maybe that's why?

I'm siding on the side of the show being awesome - and they came out just before 9pm and played until about 10:45 (per my pic time stamps) so I don't think it was a short show. Would I be OK with them playing for 3 hours? yes but I thought it was great. 7 brand news songs - including 2 I had not yet heard live yet (ok yes I'm spoiled). And then songs like "Thanks that was Fun" and "Peterbourgh and the Kawarthas" done with just two members of the band was different and quite cool. They have to play 'the hits' for the crowd that doesn't even know they have a new CD - heck one lady by me thought "Peterbourgh" was a cool new song

So yes - two thumbs WAY up. My only gripe is the old tired one - Canadians and their tendency to not stand for a show. Really it's a rock show - stand your butts UP. And yes I'm going to stand and no matter how many names you call me I'm still going to stand so :p

But the show itself - :D

Sounds like a fun show! More non dancers though?!!! Anyone have a setlist. From the descriptions it sounds like its been pretty much like the other shows, with the few jems thrown in.

I think they played a little closer to 11, but I'm not sure, I wasn't trying to keep track of the time!

But I agree, there were so many non standers. These people right behind me barely stood at all, for the whole show. I was angry, since I was on the floor. Thankfully they never asked me once to sit down. The people in front of me though kept asking the people in front of them to sit down... which I thought was rude since that lady had two little kids with her that were dancing around the whole time.

This seems like the correct set list to me, I don't notice anything wrong. Does anyone else think its right?

And this may be the underlying problem. I think the last time I saw them was 2006. They've obviously had some huge changes since then.

I'm not saying it was bad it just felt a lot like I was watching 4 guys doing their job. What I've always loved about them is they felt spontaneous and it seemed like they were really having fun. This show felt like a new band on a well rehearsed tour trying to build a new fan base.

I haven't seen them since 1996 -- yes, you have to give up something when you don't have money, and sadly, it was concerts. But I had seen them five years in a row before that (babysitting money through high school!!!).

Their energy and humour was what kept me coming back every year when they'd come to town. As long as that is there, I don't care what they sing. (They could do an entire show of Air Supply songs and it would still be amazing.)

I am so looking forward to Monday's KW show. I hope we can convince many people to get up and dance!!!

I thought they were pretty on, and funny that night. I mean, I was on the floor, so maybe there was more stuff I caught that someone further away wouldn't have. But they were funny, and their jokes and ad-libs I laughed loads at.

Reports that a light snow fell that night in London, ON. Perhaps the reason why the Canadians aren't standing and dancing is because they are still in a state of hibernation? Hmmm...maybe my pro dance poster needs to be: WHO NEEDS SLEEP?! GET UP AND DANCE!

I don't think its that the audience is shitty at all.

There were people in front of me that only stood for the singles, and then seemed to give up for the rest of the show. Whatever, fine. They actually told the like 6 and 8 year old girls in front of them to sit down.

That's what the problem is.

Ugh, I would totally hate that too lol

I was there, and I had these people behind me that only stood for like 10 minutes max when BNL first came on stage. I was pissed. Luckily, they didn't ask me to sit down at all... I totally would have told them where to go, especially since I stood up the whole time.

See the problem was the woman was NOT letting up. She was still swearing inbetween a song when Ed was about to talk, and i think everyone heard her. I ACTUALLY wanted her to keep swearing in hopes that someone might be gutsy enough to back me up. Also my sister and friend who were with me didn't support me at all. They sat down right away. :( So i was literally the only one standing up for the first 3 songs before i finally sat. Why don't other people have the guts to join in? It sucks being on your own in that situation.

sorry i don't mean to hujack this thread. I still get really emotional about the whole thing and how it ruined the night for me.

If I was with you, I would have stuck up for you. People need to realize they're at a concert, not some ballet production or something. I seriously don't understand. I would have seriously told her where to go if she started swearing at/about me at that show.

I totally did that once. It was sorta fun. But then the forty-something woman wanted to fight me, and I just laughed - a 19 year old thats in shape versus a larger 40-ish year old? You can tell where that would have end up ;)

But seriously. Its a BNL show! You STAND. You DANCE. You SING. As a performer myself, there's nothing worse than looking out into your audience and seeing them not engaged. In fact, it can be really friggin' awkward too.

So kudos to everyone that has the balls to stand up and dance. :)

Mal, stop talking about me like that! :p I caved and sat in Kingston (until the teens came down front dancing), but I will be up and dancing in Hamilton! :D

As always, the guys were quite pleased and Ed commented form stage and thanked the teens that came down to dance and make it a real rock concert!
