Since Steve left, I never thought I would see Some Fantastic again. I look up the setlist for the concert in Saskatoon and they performed it! Did anyone here attend, who sings steves parts?
Edit: Woah! I just realized Straw Hat in the list too! It's good to see them bringing back classic Steve tunes. Also, they did eraser again. A new regular? I hope!

Huh, I was just going through songs today, looking for older songs I thought they'd still do without Steve. I was very sad when I decided Some Fantastic didn't fit that category.
But damn, now all my predictions are out the window - I wonder what goodies they have in store for me tomorrow night?? (But I guess if they just played SF it probably won't show up again for a while :()

Reworking songs makes me disappointed they aren't recording shows - not sure how long "yet" will be - the entire leg or longer?

I would be happy if I never had to hear Some Fantastic live again. Bummer, I was hoping that would be cut.

That was my reaction too, and then I thought well we all sing along to these songs when we listen to them, so technically lots of other people have sung this song (with varying degrees of success, I'm sure). And, songs get covered all the time or sung at karaoke, so that's kind of the perspective I'm taking on other people singing the Steve songs. Ed has a great voice and awesome stage presence, so I'm choosing to believe that he could make just about any song work. We don't freak out when he covers someone else's songs, so when he sings a Steve song, I just think of it like that. I think I'm even at a place where I could hear Ed sing Break Your Heart, and in fact am curious to hear what it would sound like.
But, have to agree with the love for Some Fantastic. It's one of my favourites (it's just so boppy!) so I'm glad it's still in the repertoire.

The Love We're In has definitely made me wonder what Ed's Break Your Heart would sound like. I could see him taking a whole different spin on the emotion of it.

They're not recording the shows or just haven't released any of them?
I may be in a minority but I personally don't want to see BYH (or War on Drugs) attempted live without Steve.

Sounded like Ed said (re: the recording thread) that they were "not yet recording", rather than "releasing".

I for one would be very interested to hear Ed sing Break Your Heart. His voice may not have the range that Steve's does, but he can hit some high notes for sure. Plus he puts such lovely emotion into so many songs I think it would sound really great.

I LOVE some fantastic and was extremely worried I would never hear it again Live so I am super geeked about this and Straw Hat is my all time favorite BNL song hands down. YAY!!!!!!!!;)
Someone asked who sang steve's parts in Some Fantastic and Straw Hat. Ed did all the lead vocals. Kev only came in on SF for a second but he sang a verse from a non bnl song that i can't recall.

Yea the way he said it to me sounded like they weren't even recording them yet. I was quite star struck so i didn't really ask anything more. lol Doesn't the band have to pay a fee to the venue when they record an album there? That would mean that even if they did record the shows, which i'm sure a lot of bands do regardless of whether the fans ever hear it, they would still need to get permission to sell it. Plus is there IS a fee to the venue, half full venues are not exactly making them very much money, so maybe its just not feasible.

those are all the songs, but i don't remember if thats the correct order. In fact i'm pretty sure some songs are out of place.
