I check the billboard sire daily to see how AIGT is doing on the charts. I clicked on it today to get quite an excitement! :D

Sure is dropped on the Canadian Albums chart, but it's doing so well on other charts!

That's great news! Thanks for the link.
And I'm stoked to see that the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" soundtrack is this week's greatest gainer.

#2 Rock Album? Second only behind Jimi Hendrix? I can easily deal with this. :D

Still, managing at #4 on the digital charts is great. As well as #1 on independant and #2 on rock.

Even after seeing the big drop on iTunes over the weekend, I was still a little shocked to find out AIGT was the biggest decliner on the Billboard 200...from # 23 to # 106. AIGT dropped to # 32 on the Rock Chart and # 15 on the Independent chart.

I think all the downloads w/ ticket sales, CD's from joining the Ladies Room, etc all counted towards the first week of sales.

It's fallen completely off the charts now. Is there any plans for a second single at this point?
PLEASE let Four Seconds be the next single! I'd love to see a video for it too! :D

Dear Sock Puppet - why are you back?
As we all know, Steve was the main singer and songwriter for BNL all through the 90's. Steve and Ed were both frontmen but it was basically considered that Steve was the main guy in the band. He definitely had the most input. Then around 2000, Ed became more and more of the main guy with Steve getting pushed to second.
It's interesting how Ed only sang 2 songs on Maroon and yet they both got picked as singles and Steve only got one. Then on E2E, it was all Ed singles again. Steve co-sang Another Postcard but that was it. Then it was the Chrsitmas album where Ed was once again more in the spotlight. Then on BLAM, that's when I really noticed it. Ed actually sang AND wrote MORE of the 29 songs than Steve did! I was actually really shocked at that. That's when I realized that Ed truly was the frontman of BNL now. It's an interesting concidence really. E2E was when BNL's commerical success starting to really decline and that was the first record where Ed started gaining alot of control and Steve was losing control. It could just be a concidence but who knows?
How did you feel about it? I honestly did not like it at all and I think that's one of the reasons why Maroon is the last great BNL record for me. Don't get me wrong, E2E and BLAM both have some good songs but Maroon was the last true classic. Ed is a good singer and songwriter but overall, Steve's catalog of BNL songs is much stronger than Ed's IMO.
That honestly sounded bad IMO. TITNIFAATW is one of those few songs that should be left alone.
I think were both right. Steve was probably being pushed out creatively and he ended up losing interest in BNL because of it.
Yeah, I saw that interview. Someone on Barenaked.net posted it once.
That's why I don't think Steve was "losing interest" or anything like that. If you believe what Steve has been saying in interviews, he definitely was being pushed out at least a little bit.
Good point. I've noticed that Steve has definitely looked more miserable and bored in interviews and even on stage sometimes and such since around 2003. Maybe he lost his passion and was just phoning it in the last few years?
I was refering to the billboard 200 mostly. That's still not great though. AIGT hasnt really sold well.
And finally...
I heard this tour has had poor sales so far so I guess the band has no choice but to continue singing Steve's songs. If they just performed Ed songs and the new stuff from AIGT, the sales would probably be even worse.
We get your love for Steve and disdain for Ed. In the words of Katezilla, beat it.

What is your problem? I am not sock puppet. I'm a new member and I have no clue who that even is. Who is the admin of this place?

My apologies for labeling you a sock puppet. I have only seen one other person come on to a BNL board since the parting with Steve with with such a clear dislike for the foursome and your posts are eerily like those of that person. Good luck with the negativity and finding acceptance here. I will ignore your posts going forward.

There is no negavity. I clearly stated that I like E2E, BLAM and AIGT. Just because I said Maroon was the last classic BNL album IMO doesn't mean I dislike everything after that.

I understand your point. Maroon was a great album not because of Steve but it was a band effort and they seem to be in a very strong state during the recording of it.

TV Fan is free to say what he likes, surely...
i think this idea that the dynamics of the band shifted towards Ed in the years before Steven left is quite interesting and probably true.
