In case you were wondering what the song would sound like with no guitars.

There are guitars, it's just pretty low in the mix. That's a very compressed audio stream in that clip, though.

I don't understand how they can get away with streaming the audio for this at such a low quality. It doesn't do the performance any justice

That was the joke!

News Lady should do her research next time! Though it did make me laugh louder at Eds joke

I'm glad I'm not the only one who laughed hysterically at the fact that "Ann" didn't get the joke. She was so oblvious when Ed said "If I ever get my hands on that pilot..."

I thought that was funny too.
My friend and I went to the Today show yesterday to see them play and had a great time (despite all the rain). The guys loved the sign we brought with us that said "NYC is getting Barenaked Today". They actually played YRA twice, we were ready to leave after the first time before we realized it was just a rehearsal. The rest of the show was just too boring to sit through. Good thing we stuck around! I thought they sounded great!

After reading and watching a bunch of these interviews, I'm wondering if the guys are getting tired of the same questions. I'm even starting to get a feeling of 'geez, let it go already' with the 'How're things without Steve?' kind of questions.
I don't know what else they could ask and maybe it's this way with all album releases. This is the first time I've ever watched so many interviews about an album release, so maybe it's standard.

I think it is standard whenever they or any band/artist/actor/comedian/author is promoting anything. And also, take all the national stuff like Leno and Regis and multiply it by ten for all the local appearances and call-in's they're doing that we never hear!

I guess all the repeated questions are why they are so rehersed and comfortable with their answers. But there is only so much preparing they could do for Regis and his bizarre question about crying at night for Steve.

Speaking of more local interviews... here's one Ty and Ed did yesterday on my local station... :)

That guy was way more prepared then any of the national hosts I have seen - nicely done!

I loved that Marysol Castro on ABC talked about them rhyming with the word 'orange.' That was a unique question/comment.

It definitely helps when the interviewer is actually a fan. *thumbs up*
Though Evan probably could have used better examples of more serious songs, he definitely gets brownie points for mentioning such deep cuts in the first place! :D
