The Artist Arena download emails seem to now be going out today. The unstated presumption is that each download/pin# use constitutes a "sale" of the album for the charts, so if you have already downloaded it, download it again! or give the site and your pin# to a friend or colleague. It's a free download. Might as well spread the album and perhaps find some new fans, and at least get a sale racked up on the charts for the guys!

We live in America and bought two tix each to the MTL and Oshawa shows. Hubby bought Oshawa, I bought MTL. We each got 1 PIN# from the fan club - we thought we were each getting 2 since we each bought 2 tix. Anywho, after fiddling with the login page, we figured out how to get it to work and we 2 Americans are now listening to the downloaded albums from our respective laptops. Beauty, eh?

Still, I kinda miss showing up excitedly at Virgin Records in Hollywood asking where the queue will be at midnight for the new Barenaked Ladies CD. Oh how they would scoff and then sell us CDs at 10pm. We would drive all the way home listening to the new release. <misty eyed>

Oh well - back to the listening party! Cheers!

I should note that mine were VIP, though I think yours were too. Some other people have regulars.

Of course the show I'm going to wasn't participating in the free album download. I'm so bummed.

I believe that the download codes that were sent out were for the tickets transaction, not the VIP package.

Interesting...I went back to see what the VIP packages said. The first run in Canada offers a physical CD for the NVIP, while the BNVIP only offers a laminate & a t-shirt-no CD. (there's other little stuff too, but I didn't take notes, lol)

Now the US shows offer a digital download for each NVIP ticket while the BNVIP offers a signed physical CD. I wonder if they'll add that back to the Canada shows or if there will be differences like that bt the two legs of the tour.

Well, I have one VIP ticket from one TM show and two VIP tickets from one AA show, and I got one download code from TM and two download codes from AA. I have no other transactions. Two transactions, three codes.

Right now, I'm only going to one show, but if I were to have tickets to another, I'd use my one free download. With the other one, I'd probably be hesitant to pass it on to a friend, under the idea that they can go buy the album and the band actually gets paid for it.

I was thinking the postal code would be connected to my registered address, but it's sure worth a try!

I ordered tickets for the Victoria, B.C. show so I think that's why I got the email now.

Hmmm...could be. I just thought, 'if I go look up Canadian postal codes, I wonder if that will work?' The first I tried were MTL, but didn't work (H3A & H3B), then I saw L1G 1P5 and thought, well now THAT looks like a right proper postal code, that does. Tried it and it worked!

And, to add to the PIN numbers being for VIP or NON-VIP, we only bought BNVIP for the Canadian dates, both through AA. 2 shows, 4 tix, 2 PIN #s. We assumed it was because we purchased VIP. But who knows.

I see. I thought since you bought tickets for Oshawa, you just swiped the postal code from their address or something. (Much how like when we're in PA stores want to know a zip code from me at the check out, so I use the zip code from the hotel we're staying at.)
