We decided since there was no 2010 Ships and Dip we could embark on our own version with a road trip for the new tour - Trips and Dip II. (Notice we are going Even with the Trips and Odd with the Ships just to keep everything straight).

We are hitting the shows in Boise, Spokane, Portland and Santa Rosa (‘home show’ – from Bay Area) so any and all suggestions for places to stay and things to do in these cities would be appreciated!

Even better anyone else hitting these shows?

What fun! We are in Portland and will be at the show!

Have you been to Portland before?

For places to stay.....these are all downtown, and walkable. or a short ride to the venue.

Hotel Modera
The Nines
Hotel Monaco
The Heathman

The closest hotel to the Keller is The Marriott on SW Naito Parkway. (there are several marriotts in the area)

That sounds like an awesome trip. That will be a beautiful drive up through that area.

We'll be in Santa Rosa celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We're spending a few nights beforehand decimating the wine inventory in Napa and Sonoma.

Hey MaybeKati!
We, too, are hitting the road, calling it the Follow the Ladies Tour 2010. We're celebrating our 10 year anniversary and decided to skip Hawaii and follow the boys. After a few dates in Canada, and then a break back home, we are flying from the Los Angeles area to Seattle, renting a car a driving to Spokane. Currently, our plan is to drive to Yakima - about 1/2 way to Portland - staying there for the night before getting up on the 23rd and continuing into Portland. We'll probably head back towards Seattle after the Portland show, because we catch a flight to San Fran the next day. (We'll race ya!;) )We'll be crashing in SF at our friend's house, and then taking him to his first BNL concert, where he'll get to meet the Ladies and collect some neat Meet n Greet Swag! Since he has to work the next day, we'll head back to SF after Santa Rosa and then enjoy the City by the Bay for a couple of days before heading to Reno, NV (we're still getting those tix even though there's confusion over who gets the pre-order, AmEx or Artist Arena.) Then we come back to SF for one last farewell tropical drink at the Tonga Room and one last flight of rums at Hobson's Choice, then home to recuperate before heading out on the next leg. Oh where, oh where, will THAT be?

Road trip planning is ALWAYS appreciated. Especially if any of you read this and thought, 'Yakima?! Oh God, NOT YAKIMA!' other suggestions between Seattle and Spokane and Spokane and Portland would be great. Places named Ritzville sound a little swanky, but what do I know? :) Cheers for the help!

Michael? Is That YOU?! Saw you at the Mint with Thinbuckle, and I think at State Line in October?

For Santa Rosa we're Section A, Row B, seats 3, 4 & 5.

Where you at? :)

Thanks for the tips on hotels lulugirl - We have never been to Portland or Spokane before and are very much looking forward to having a great time!

Cynful1 - the race is on!:D

I must admit that while we began the idea thinking a true road trip - after weighing all the options (in what I may add was a great presentation on my part) and our joint prowess for speeding tickets we have decided Southwest Airlines will be our vehicle of choice. It is a mixture of 6+ hour drive times or hour flights for between $50 and $70. Figure this will give us more time to shop and hang in the new cities.

We decided for the VIP at the Portland show - so excited!

Check out Virgin America rates as well. I was surprised they'd only charge us $59 for our one-way return between SF and LA. The rest of the itin. I priced between them and SW (or was it Jet Blue?) came out about $100 cheaper. I LOVE Virgin America - so many fun gadgets to keep me awake on redeyes!

Is ANYONE going to Reno? Don't make me sing alone! (That last request was from my husband who has to sit next to me.) :p

So sad but no - we each have to get back to work to cover vacations. You sing it and sing it loud!!

We might be going to Reno, but it would take alot of planets aligning. We'll be at Santa Rosa on the 25th, driving to Reno the next AM, then flying to Vegas for the rest of our 20th anniversary trip. We're flying back to Reno on the 28th and my daughter and mother-in-law are joining us at our place at Kings Beach to spend the Memorial Day weekend. If we ALL end up being able to congeal in the area in time tomake the show, we'll all be there. I imagine we'll buy late and have crappy seats though.

So if you hear a few off key voices singing with you from the balcony it might be us...

I can't imaging the Reno show being overly well attended. It's kind of a wasteland out there. I mean, even the sheriff wears short shorts.....

LOL! I'm hopin' to see a Dangle - or two. ;)

I saw a website called Coast to Coast Tickets that people are selling tix to the Reno show for $383 and $481 EACH to be almost back row. That was before the pre-sale Wednesday. Now it seems someone got their hands on some pre-sale PIT tix and is offering 4 tix in the 3rd row center PIT for $245 each. Such a bargain.

We went regular pre-sale, not VIP, for this show and we got PIT, so I think your right about the turnout. Oh my, shades of drunken casino frequent players a la Primm last October. Jeesh.... ;)

In my opinion you are not right. I am assured. Write to me in PM, we will discuss.
