Looks like all smaller markets: Reno, not Vegas; Toledo, not Cleveland. No Chicago, NY, LA...I would assume there's much more to come.

Waiting on an L.A. date...
Who thinks they'll travel to shows? Sally, there's no NY, so we can't travel to see you in that way. I think Grand Rapids and Columbus are closest to us in Chicago, though admittedly I didn't look over the list as well as I should have.
When it comes down to it, the baby's due date is sooooo close to the end of this list, I don't know if we'll be getting to any at all!
I'm curious, though, as to who thinks they know what show they'll go to, whether it's travel or a local thing.
Thanks, chums!

There so better be a Chicago date....or I will be an extremely unhappy Nakedhead.

Mace, I'm guessing Toledo's the closest to you. And it's pretty clear to me they're not purposely ignoring every major market in the country- definitely assume more to come.

What Missoula is not a MAJOR market? ;)

Hmmm....wonder if I can pull of the Charleston show? It's only about 2 hours away (at least, the way I drive....What's that officer? No, I wasn't speeding....everyone else was just going to slow....:p) Sadly, don't think the hubby will go (someone's got to watch the munchkin) so it might be me myself and I heading up. If I go. If I have money. Wonder if I can trade a kidney for a ticket??? :D

There is no way on planet erf that BNL will skip Chicago. Again: no major markets (aside from Missoula) on this leg of the tour.

I'm hoping that they come to Arizona in the Fall, when its fairly pleasant, weather-wise, here. The last time that we saw them here was at the Dodge Theatre in desserted downtown Phoneix, in 2006, as I recall.

Phoenix was deserted? I thought it was a nice venue and the city was very nice. The only other time we have spent in Phoenix is for spring training.

Downtown Phoenix is always a ghost-town after about 6PM. I mean, compared to Toronto, where something is pretty much always going on downtown.
I'm in the western burbs of Chicago and I'm looking at going to Davenport, IA. It's just over 2 hours and on a Saturday.
ETA: OOOOPS Sunday.

Mace...if no NY dates materialize, maybe they'll add a Chicago or something...I'm just afraid that once my summer at camp starts I won't be able to make it to many shows. The list seems incomplete to me, maybe something else will pop up. I can't make a single one of these based on when and where they are. I'm sure we will figure something out! We'll just hafta get some wee baby headphones for Pixel! :) :)

Well shell not every city can be as awesome as Toronto, we all know that. :p I think Phoenix is a nice city.........it is more typical of many US cities where they are not the hub of the after business activities. It did not look deserted to me.

They seem to be making a nice circle around AZ. Although I was bitching to my friend 'They NEVER come to AZ!!! Wah wah wah!' I realized that I've seen them in AZ 3 times in the last 4 years, once in Tucson even. I'm such a brat!
I'm still hoping they hit here, but I'm thinking about going up to the northwest to visit friends up there at the same time...

cay if anyone can get it done it would be you!!! So would it be too much to ask that the two groups then plan a three night stance in so Cal? Say Greek Theatre, Pechanga, and Fox Performing Arts Center?
I hope to be going to the Cali show (from NYC). I have family out there and was hoping to come out and visit soon anyway... so what a great excuse!!! I'll inevitably end up at some others too. I always seem to! The locations are not totally what I'd expect, but I'm still pretty psyched for a tour!!!!

I hope they add some So. Cal shows too! I can't travel that far because I will be very pregnant by then!

I am excited, there are 2 shows pretty close to me! Charleston and Richmond! I am half way in between both! :D And what makes it better? Friday and Saturday! No time off from work needed! YEAH!! Now here's hoping that I can convience hubby that we NEED to go to both shows! ;)
Anyone else planning on hitting both of these shows?

No worries. This is less than a month's worth of tour dates. They've mentioned in interviews they would be touring well into summer, so there will be more cities. Knoxville works for me, and maybe somewhere else in the southeast later in the summer :)
Check out the picture (http://www.tennesseetheatre.com/event/556138/barenaked-ladies/) on the Tennessee Theatre website. What band is that?

They didn't say they were playing in my back yard. I asked them in the Ask the band a question contest. They never got back to me. Does that mean they are skipping me this tour? I mean, come on guys, a 5 hour drive each way on a school night? I can't do that.

They have an blackberry app for searching for songs (put your phone up to the radio to capture the song, and it finds who it is). They should have something like that for pictures. I bet someone around here recognizes them. The second guy from the left reminds me a little of Fin.
Speaking of Fin, wonder if he'll be around this tour?

We'll have to meet up there....we are definitely going....so EXCITED!!! This is the closest they have ever come to us...we have always had to go to Maryland to Merriweather Post Pavilion. So, who else is coming to Virginia??? (guess I'll go read the rest of the posts in this thread!) :):):):

We're about 45 minutes from Richmond, so we are definitely going to that show. Our son lives in Charleston so it's possible we could drive on down there saturday morning. I mentioned that to Butch as soon as I read the dates.....seems completely reasonable to me!

Seems reasonable to me too! We are about 2 1/2 hrs from Richmond and about 3 1/2 hours from Charleston! That is not too bad, considering when we lived up North we drive 12 hours to see them in Toronto! :D

Think of travel time as "stimulating the economy" You buy gas, food, and hotel rooms. Plus, someone has to clean the rest areas yous top at, so you're helping to keep people employed. Plus, since they guys all have kids, your concert ticket helps their college fund. :D
(Is this a reasonable argument? I might use this on the hubby to convince him to let me spend the money to go.)

I live 2 hours from Tampa and Miami and 3 from Orlando, and the closest they're coming is Charleston, SC? 2 freaking states away?
Heck, with this "smaller market" approach, here in Fort Myers would've been perfect. :(
Let's hope there's another leg.

42stairs....I like your argument! But, I think I have another one that could work for me. I just need to remind Butch that we would get to see William (our new grandson) if we went to Charleston. He was born November 16th. Were going to Charleston on May 16th for a wedding so I don't know if we can swing another trip quick that soon though.

Grandbabies are addicting, according to my mother in law (which explains why my in laws travel to Savannah from north coast Ohio so often...she goes through withdrawl ;) )
My other argument could be that since our anniversary is 6-20, it would make a great early present.

I hope this means they are doing a bigger city tour over the summer. I heard a rumor about them going to Europe in the Fall (even less helpful). The closest they are coming to me is Richmond, VA and even the VIP tix are General Admission. What's up with that? Love the guys, so I am hoping they will announce things that add to this line up. The new CD and concert downloads will have to do until the next tour dates are announced. That and planning for S&D VII.

We talked to Jim after StudioD in Rochester on Monday, and he confirmed that YES, more dates are coming for July and August. Probably still "lesser known" venues, but I think that's mostly because it's an outdoor shed tour, so maybe they'd play out in Canandaigua instead of Rochester proper, etc.
