I am almost afraid to post this, but ever since this board was created, I was like "Finally, I have a place to say what I want to say outloud"
I want another cruise. There, I said it. I might have said it in the wrong location.
What do you think our chances are for 2011? Have you secured intel you can share?
Am I dreaming?
I know they have a tour...A BIG TOUR..but they did when we went on the first cruise too!
Please please please, tell me I am not alone in this hope, thought, dream, desire to say it outloud...
If not one responds, I will cry.
Man that sounded desperate.

Funny, but I was home sick today looking at Carribean rental houses and thinking "What we should do is rent a house with a bunch of board people and just play BNL and drink all day long." Then I realized that was just a land cruise.

I'm sure we could find a land shark to go with the land cruise.

I hope there *isn't* a cruise 2011. I'm hoping for 2012. Because I'm having a huge birthday party January 15th 2011 and I want my closest cruise friends to come and they won't if there's a cruise, even though I warned them about it A YEAR in advance... :(
Also because I will not be able to take time off school in 2011, as I will be graduating and/or in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong? What? Also: awesome!
I'm sort of hoping for 2012 just because it's doubtful I'll be able to afford a cabin right now and I'd hate to lose my ticket seniority by booking late. You know?
But on the other hand, I'm dying from wanderlust right now and I think a lot of it has to do with not cruising this year. No really, the idea of driving to Miami sounds reasonable right now. And I hate driving to Miami. But perhaps a big trip to Montreal would be an adequate substitute.

I thought about that very concept when I found this place.....

I almost dove thru my monitor into that pool ....
I wonder if we will have "ticket seniority" anymore - if Sixthman contracts it, I guess we would.

I can also wait until 2012, for money reasons... buying a house sucks all the money out of your accounts when you are not looking... they're sneaky! I also need a new car so bad that I say a little prayer that it makes it to work and back each day.
But there had BETTER be more of them in the future, or there will be hell to pay. :D

Nicey, my best guess would be no, just because BNL has been really clear that they're planning on touring their asses off for this record. Since the tour hasn't even started yet, I'd be surprised if they weren't still touring at this time next year- especially since they'll obviously have a long US stretch and one in Europe as well.

Hmmm a cruise in Europe would be nice!!! :)

Sorry for the wait! I haven't had internet access for a few days so I haven't had a chance to update you.
After the show I asked Ed if they were ever going to do another cruise. He said that they'd been talking about it and that Sixthman has been trying to convince them to do one but if they do it won't be next year. He also said that they've been throwing around the idea of doing a summer camp instead.

I have seen this before and tried to interpret it. So I think if, in 2009, they say they won't do one next year, that means no cruise for 2010, but maybe something else. I think it leaves 2011 open to possibilities for a cruise, especially since we are seeing cruises coming out of Sixthman at all times of the year. Just my overly optomistic opinion!

I had heard that quote before about the *camp* but months after that.... in December my friend rode a hotel elevator with Kevin and he said "We will be cruising again"..... but maybe Kevin's out of the loop? No specifics on *when*.... unless my friend was holding out on us all! ;)

Earlier this month, on the Rock Boat, I asked Andy Levine of Sixthman if there would be another Ships and Dip. He said that Sixthman were keen on it and that BNL were too, but wanted to wait until they could be a bit more organised/committed to schedules (or words to that effect!).
Keep hoping! :D

I really, really hope there's another cruise. I wouldn't be at all excited at the thought of a summer camp event instead as I've no frame of reference for how it would be (we don't do summer camp in Ireland).

If you don't think that summer camp wouldn't have the same ambiance of a cruise...you are SORELY mistaken. I've got 24 years of summer camp experience under my belt, 16 of those are staff years. Believe you me...you guys would pee your ever-loving pants.
Seriously.

A summer camp vacation would be great - Especially in a Big North Woods of Wisconsin type setting. Lake, boats, horses, cozy woodsy tavern down the way ...
I was a camp counselor at a couple of these places back in the late '70's.

I prefer my vacation away from my kids to be a bit more posh than summer camp! I think no matter what they do, I am in. But I like the cruising as I get to see the port stops and having something to share other than concert photos. If it wasn't for the cruises, I am not sure when I would have left Canada for a sun destination.
I already have a friend and her husband committed to go with us!

If by posh you mean suite then okay. But seriously even 2 people in a cabin was too close quarters.

I'll go to camp, but I'll be wishing I was cruising.
Actually, we can't cruise in 2011 because we need to save up to visit our daughter in Japan that year. Dave wants to make it a 2 week trip.
I really have no idea how I'm going to survive with her that far away for a whole year but I guess I'll just have to.... :(

(after 3 cruises, I'd really prefer a cruise to a "camp" as well)

I'll go one better than camp...BNL SPACE Camp!
We'd be a hilarious team of young goofballs: one white, one black, one Asian, and a strong-willed tough as nails girl who just doesn't fit into the crowd. Somehow, we'd end up in the actual space shuttle and have to rely on what we'd learned in a few short weeks to command it back down to earth. And Tyler would be there.

I'd like to audition for the part of Asian.

I may also require 2 seats, but that's only b/c I can't tell how big Kevin Smith really is. In one picture he looked to be about my size.
