The Ladies will be in BC for Olympic celebrations, with performances so far on Feb 16 & 17. We'll be at both. Anyone else?

I was going to try to go to the free show. Can't remember which day that was. Or are they both free shows? Possibly looking at links and making plans would help. Possibly.

Just a note on the "free" show... you aren't allowed to drive to Whistler during the Olympics, so you're forced to take the bus from Vancouver. From what I've discovered so far, that's $70/pp round trip. I'm going to do a little more hunting to see if I can find something better. We're planning on taking the kids, so that free little concert is suddenly $280.

Hey Laurel...remember that list of that weird stuff called "logic" that I sent you the other day? I think this ends up getting added on as #4. :(
I was going to go but the online is sold out and when I went in to the member sales people want $150.00 and up for tix..........so much for prices not getting inflated.....I refuse to pay hundreds of dollars to sit in the back of bc place where the sound reverberates so badly that there is a delay between their mouths moving and the sound hitting your ears!!!!! I think I'll hold out for the next Ships and Dip.......or stadium tour after the album drops?????????????????

Okay, you all deserve this story:
I really really agonized over this one. But it came down to this: I and the family are going to a once-in-a-lifetime event, in one of my favorite cities, and then there's my favorite band in the whole world in the same time and place. How could I NOT go?
So after a month of going back and forth about his, I finally bought a pass to the tune of $440 on the exchange rate.
Guess what happened less than two days after I did that?
They announced special half day or night "fan zone" passes for ....
(wait for it).
$99!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen! That's me banging my head against the keyboard. :)
So, I will enjoy noshing on my free Wolfgang Puck snackies, whilst trying to make my way around to the stage, snap my blurry concert pics, marvel at the hockey memorabelia (sp?) after the show, and, if I'm lucky, get to say "hey" to the guys afterward.
Then I will go home, having blown my entire concert budget for the year, sit in the 'bad boy' corner with my Costco pretzels and water, and laugh at myself. :D
Michael, he shoots and.......awwwwwww! ;)

Michael, maybe this makes you feel a bit better:
The passes priced $ 99 are Matinee Passes, so they do not include any concerts.
The Evening Pass for February 13th (with BNL show) costs$ 239 (http://molsoncanadianhockeyhouse.com/#fanzone).
I agree though, it s**** not getting all the info from start.
Just make sure you all enjoy the fancy food and eat LOTS of it!

The hilarious part is...that's one of the reasons why I was waiting in the first place! "Maybe the price will go down, maybe...." and the timing of it was just perfect!
It's more funny to me than agravating. Hey, maybe Wolfgang Puck will bring me a slice of pizza whilst I'm down in front waiting for the show to begin. ;)
Michael, who might be your sole outside source of information on the action at the Molson House :)

So, clicked on a link on the main page for a Jan 30th show in Vancouver, then - Buy tickets.
My first thought - they're playing in Vancouver on the 30th? Why didn't I know about this? Then I thought - oh, it's an Olympics thing ... I clicked on it just to see what the tickets cost.
First thing I saw was $35 tickets!
Then I noticed this:
Majumder/Cullen/Payne: Laugh it Out!
Saturday, January 30, 2010, 8:00 PM
The Orpheum
Vancouver, BC, Canada
Hmmm ... maybe it's just a promo for Sean Cullen?
DOH! I need to look further ...

The victory ceremonies concerts have not started yet. The Olympics themselves start Feb. 12. I haven't seen anything from the Laugh It Out yet either.
