Do you guys watch it? On our way to Vegas my aunt convinced me to watch it, and I fell completely in love with it. Tonights episode was hysterical.... I loved the thermostat song. My other favorite episode (just off the top of my head) was the ferberizing the baby episode. I almost died laughing when Cameron made up the story about the raccoons getting into Lily's room. Who is your favorite character? I totally LOVE Cameron. But I find my self walking around saying "jes" (yes, Manny's mom says it that way.)

We love that show, too! My dad recorded the first six episodes, and he pretty much makes any visitor to the house watch them all in one sitting.

I broke the glass coffe table.
The one you swore you didn’t break? And then we blamed Esperanza? And fired her? And she stole a turkey at Thanksgiving for her family? And got deported?

I watched it and laughed hysterically. Some great characters in it. If it had been the usual straight-up family sitcom, it would have been Just Another Sitcom. But this show works so much better.

For some reason I don't laugh much at comedies, I just think in my head "ha that was funny". But Big Bang and Modern Family make me laugh out loud.

I love Big Bang.

I love Big Bang.. I think the 1at season was the best bc the jokes were more complicated. It kinda seems like thry dumbed down the jokes for the masses. I still love it though.

I think "Modern Family" is probably the funniest sitcom on TV. It's brilliant. I love Mitchell and Cameron and their little fortune cookie.

I love Modern Family more every time I watch it. My favorite episode so far has been the birthday party one. That was incredibly well done.
I just need to figure out how to write a script for them...

"Lilly? Isn't that going to be hard for her to say?"
That cracked me up. We think it's a funny show and try to watch it each week.

It has really grown on me. This past week's episode had me laughing out loud.

Modern Family and Community are the two best new comedies on TV.

I like Community, but I feel like I should like it more...I guess because of the cast, I hold it to a higher standard. The dean, however, is turning out to be the star of the show. He steals every scene he's in with his vaguely bisexual comments, Homer Simpson shirt, and Moby look.

We must have given up on Community too quickly. We only watched the first two episodes. Maybe it's because I just can't take Chevy Chase anymore. He used to be so funny, and now he just comes off as creepy (at least, to me he does).

You're correct; Chevy Chase is now indeed creepy. He kinda always was to me.

I don't think he's creepy. He plays a creepy character, so uh, yes, that's creepy I guess. We watched the first couple episodes of Community but then kinda lost interest. I was expecting more from it I guess.

I DO think Chevy Chase is actually creepy, which to me is why it works on the show.

That, and I just don't find him funny anymore. This seems to happen with a lot of comedians. Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, Steve Martin, and so on...

Wow...your list is EXACTLY mine!
We saw Dennis Miller a couple years back, and I was really excited, because he was playing a really small club. He was AWFUL. Not only was he unfunny, he was a complete asshole. Just utter contempt for the 500 people who paid $50 to see him.

That sucks. What a jackass!
Then there are people who still CAN be funny, but mostly choose not to be, i.e. Eddie Murphy.
Kind of like people who used to rock, but don't anymore (yeah, I'm talking to YOU, Sting!) vs. the people who still can rock, but generally choose not to (Eric Clapton).

I'm pretty sure that was "Roxanne", but it was hard to tell with all the kettle drums and harps.

Ha!
Although I have to give him credit for actually doing a fairly decent rendition of Driven to Tears during the Haiti Telethon.

I'm going to note, but then skip the obligatory "drive to tears while listening to Sting" joke.
Whoops.

Again, HA!!
How one "progresses" from The Police to, well, what he does now, is a bit hard to comprehend. Do you think "pan flute brain" is listed in the DSM IV? What are the current treatment options? Could he go on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew for some sort of treatment?
