You've probably seen the hot and sweet work done by the Signing Lady at bnl's Chicago show (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOBuIthv69g), but here's a Signing Lady who's really gone the extra mile by keeping up with some fast talking and pretty incomprehensible rappers from Northern England (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUJbe5mls5Y).

As a Sign Language Interpreter myself I could never ever agree to do a BNL show. The interpreters who do it are incredible. Most people really have no idea how insanely difficult interpreting is; adding in any form of linguistic art form makes the task exponentially harder.
Here is a funny video done by a comedian that shows a little bit how difficult it is. And to let you know, when he switches to ASL (right after he rolls up his pantleg) the interpretation is absolutely AMAZING!

We have season tickets to a theatre in San Diego, and we have the ASL performance dates. It is always fun to watch them, but they were particularly funny during Spamalot!

My favorite year of school was when we had to do a ton of observation. I convinced my ex-husband that the best way to do that was to go to plays. I saw every big play that came through Tucson that year, the shows with interpreters of course. It really was amazing.
