Trying to win tickets with the local radio station for this one. Anyone know any details on this or have an in for tickets? Without a cruise this year, I'm having withdrawls! Plus, if the guys are only going to be 40 minutes away, I want to be there!

Concert News: Barenaked Ladies are back

Only a few months removed from their Big Fresno Fair concert, Barenaked Ladies will return to Fresno next Saturday (Jan. 23) to play an acoustic show at Elbow Room. Yep, you read that right, Elbow Room.

It's the latest in Y101's Unplugged concert series, which brought "American Idol" finalist Jason Castro to town earlier this week. Props to Y101 on this concert series, as it's brought us some pretty decent gigs in the past year -- Eric Hutchinson, Better Than Ezra and Sugar Ray among them.

The key part, if you're trying to see Barenaked Ladies, is that you have to win tickets on the air. So BNL fans better keep their radios tuned to Y101.

Been trying all day - unfortunately when you listen online you are bombarded with online commercial breaks for debt relief and weight loss shakes. Guess when the station gives the cue to call – during these breaks without fail. Been at it since 6am and only 3 chances have been announced when online listeners can hear it.

today they added a texting feature in case you did not see or hear. text y101 to 67664. they keep saying the will be plenty of chances to win. i have been listening online with no luck but she won by listening to the actual radio tonight.

I did the texting this morning. Listened online at work and then in the car then online when I got home. There shouldn't be any difference between the radio and streamed feeds???

I thought it would be the same too but NO! They have online commercials during the internet stream - and it is typically when they announce to call for tickets. Online I actually only heard 3 times to call in 2 full days of listening. They seem to have more tickets in the afternoon and evening too.

Canadian exports, Barenaked Ladies are making a quick stop in the Coachella Valley on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Fantasy Lounge at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. The band’s appearance is sponsored by Mix 100.5 FM. There is seating for only 150 for the acoustic set and tickets are available through the radio station only.

Barenaked Ladies rose to popularity in the 1990s. The Fantasy Springs appearance will features some of their best known songs, including “One Week” and “It’s All Been Done.”

no we aren't goin to coachella or fresno. the storms here are insane and not worth fighting traffic with all the flooding and crazyness.

if we scored tix to fresno, we would make the trek up there but we aren't even trying to win tix so it ain't happenin.

You getting rain already today? Things are looking more omnious out here, but nothing to speak of today. We had some great thunder and hail and wind yesterday, but only lasted a short time. I hope all of the hills hold and such.

Very enjoyable, but they mostly stuck to well known stuff and 3 new songs. Only 45 minutes, but it will have to do until maybekati and I figure out where we're going on the US tour.

My favorite comment of the night: "Oh, that guy has an accordian!" It's always weird to go to any BNL performance and sit near people who have never seen them. I forget that that was me 12 years ago.
