Which one? I personally like Rock Spectacle better because it is in better quality and I believe it has a better tracklist. Strongest track on it is, without a doubt, "Break Your Heart".

While I do like Talk to the Hand, it hasn't made it onto my playlist. Break Your Heart (on RS), like you mentioned, gives me the chills every time I hear it. Although I may be biased since Rock Spectacle was recorded in Montreal :P

It's kind of a tough choice, based solely on the accompaning DVD on Talk To The Hand. I went with Rock Spectacle. Steve's voice is BEAUTIFUL, and it's the perfect selection of early work. Lovely, lovely. But, one of my favourite BNL moments of all time is the performance of Angry People on Talk To The Hand. I don't watch enough concert footage of these fellas.
Also, two of the greatest versions of any songs of all time ever are the Rock Spectacle versions of Good Boy and Life In A Nutshell.

Also, I feel like there should be a "I like both equally" option :/

I have to go with Talk To the Hand for no reason relating to the quality of the CD content, solely based on Ed licking the mic. Yum.

I still went with RS, but yeah, that was a CLASSIC moment in BNL history. LOL!

I like them both.

But I went with Rock Spectacle since it was the first BNL I ever purchased.

Perhaps is a bias of Rock Spectacle being released before my fandom, and TTTH being released during it, but there are a few others that reasons why I prefer Rock Spectacle: TTTH was released during the period where every BNL show was released. TTTH came with a DVD, but it wasn't significantly better than any of those other bootlegs, and it was a show I'd seen months before. RS represents a period that I never got to actually see and of which RS is pretty much the only soundboard quality recording of that BOAPS era.

I also have to say that I prefer the audio mix of RS, but that said, one should be aware that there were corrections and overdubs done to RS in the studio (including, apparently, some by Michael Phillip Wojewoda, as Ed (or was it Steve) revealed at the Glenn Gould show). Due to TTTH being released as a DVD and still having to match the video, and the band's being accustomed at that point to releasing every show regardless of mess-ups, there are probably less post-production revisions to TTTH than RS.

I have to go with RS

Totally fell in love with BYH on this album best version of the song, well apart from when they played it for me in Birmingham :D

ok....well the only reason i went with Talk To The Hand is cause i was actually there. if i hadn't actually gone to that show it definitely would have been Rock Spectacle.

I'm with RS because that's what started my"obsession"(according to my family)

It seems as if Rock Spectacle was the album that got a lot of fans into BNL, I mean it makes sense because it was the first sucessful album in the US.

And it seems RS is the hands down winner (and my choice as well). I agree that BYH is absolutely gorgeous on that album.

Also, my first BNL album was Stunt (thanks to One Week). However, the first BNL song I ever heard was the RS version of Brian Wilson, though I didn't know it at the time. I had never heard of the band and just assumed they were a local group. I don't know why I thought that, though. I just remember telling myself I needed to find out who thy were and see if they had any CDs I could buy. Turns out they had a few... :)

Rock Spectacle, hands down... better recording, better songs, better performances.

That makes it sound like I dislike TTTH - I don't, but I felt a little disappointed about the edits on it, especially the songs they cut from the DVD.

Rock Spec definitely. I was pretty let down with talk to the hand.
