Anyone going to see the guys at the CTV Olympic Celebration - Sat. Feb. 20th @ Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto?

I'll be there....look for the girl with the battery operated space heater....ha...there are few things I hate more than being cold.

We might just be able to make it. We have to be in Philly for Monday, and we're not sure when we're leaving yet. I'm half tempted to get a room facing Nathan Phillips Square at the Sheraton Centre and just watch from the hotel window!

Sadly, I won't be able to make it. :(

Sarah that would be cool, although depending on which way the stage is set up this time the Marriott on the East side of NPS might make for better viewing. If you guys decide to have a room party count me in! :) Ha!
M, I wish u could be there but the good news is we'll be partying it up the following weekend in crazy downtown Markham!

I'll be there :)
Look for the girl with a rather confused boyfriend (he likes BNL but is confused by the whole fandom ordeal) as close as she can.
I'm hoping I can find a way to get my photo taken with the guys/meet them as sort of a nineteenth birthday present. LOL.

I haven't been to NPH for many events, but last time we went to see Steve for the tree-lightng, the stage was at the north end in front of the bridge and it was rediculously packed. I mean, rediculous. There were a few notable acts (Steve being one) but no massive name like BNL) and the square was elbow to elbow jam packed. We were back by the skating rink, and the stage was by the bridge near city hall. If I goto this, I'll be getting there much earlier...
This is not that show, but pretty much what the packed crowd looked like. I can only hope that February weather dissuades some participants. http://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/00/1a/44/fd/the-concert-at-nathan.jpg

We don't even have February clothing packed for this trip, so I'm not sure how long we'd last outside. I've only ever been to an outdoor thing at Mel Lastman Square, never NPH. My brother in law does work for Marriott and can get us a special room rate. Is there any chance of hearing anything half-decently from a hotel room with open windows?

PM-That would be a great birthday gift but with the crowds that will likely be there it might be tough to swing that. Good luck!
Thanks for the picture HYPO! It would be nice if the weather kept some of the crowds away. Will have to pack a thermos of coffee & Baileys to stay warm :)
Ya Sarah it's gonna be bloody cold. If ur room had a window on the west side of the building it looks like the Marriott might be almost parallel with the stage area, so you might hear stuff....who knows how clear it would be though. PS- sorry it took so long for me to reply to u on Twitter for some reason the DM didn't come to my email.

We might just give up and take the train Saturday morning to Philly right from Toronto (not worrying about getting to Niagara Falls, NY for first thing the next morning). But, if we do figure something out, we'll let you know what our plans are!

Tip 1: Handwarmers & toewarmers are your friends. Get to know them, and don't be afraid to put them EVERYWHERE. Including in your hat on top of your head.
Tip 2: Handwarmers & toewarmers do not get along with each other. While you are becoming best buddies with them, do NOT put them in close proximitity to each other, lest you want to experience the exploding handwarmer phenomenon first hand. :p

I already bought the hand and foot warmers! Unless there is bad weather, 2 of us ( dippers ) will be driving down from Montreal early Saturday morning. We're staying at the Sheraton which is right across from the square. Maybe we'll bump into some of you there. Loking forward to it. See you there! :)

Enjoy, everyone! As the travel gods would have it, we're flying back from Europe on the Friday afternoon, then our train leaves first thing Saturday morning to Philly. No NPS for us, sadly.

So, how was it? We were about 12 hours too early. :(
We had breakfast at Cora's on Blue Jays Way (Peter St.) around 6am, then caught our train from Union at 8:30am and spent 13 hours on (the first) train. Hope everyone had a great time! Looking forward to reports.

Argh, that was EPIC fun! It was nice to meet you all and hang out a bit after the show; it was nice to also get my birthday wish and get a picture with Kev and Jim (that's three of four Ladies now....lol). Can't wait to Hamilton. Should I post some pics?

Haha. Of course! And yes, here's a few pics. Sorry there's so many of Ed; he was right in front of me and I didn't have to try and stand on my tip-toes to see over peoples' heads! Some are good, some are bad; thats the problem of shooting with an SLR. Out of over 100 photos, there's about ten decently sharp ones! But I'll post a range.
Because the boards fail at letting me post than four images, here's a link to the Facebook album (if you cant view it, let me know): http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=377484&id=675065617&l=573162fba3

This is my favourite, and it is undoubtedly going in my portfolio (actually, I just post-processed it and put it there).

This band makes me feel short. And I'm nearly 5'11".

Feeling short again. But Jim towers over everyone ^_^
I'm so stoked to have met Jim and Kev, but to also hang out with a lot of people I only knew by screen name. Sorry for the graphic novel of a post!

Am I wrong, or is this the same jacket he was wearing during the show... but in brown... and without the flannel.... (The Lumberjack-Sailor jacket)
